Vermont beekeepers mean business when it comes to producing pure, sugary honey. Particularly smooth and creamy raw honey which is perfect for swirling into a steaming mug of Vermont roasted coffee! What the bees make in nature is what you get with raw honey. It’s full of more natural enzymes and nutrients than in honey that’s been heat treated and processed.
Some of our favorite ways to eat raw honey are to spread it on bagels, muffins, pancakes and toast. Stir it into smoothies, shakes and oatmeal. Move over peanut butter because raw honey makes a great dip for the kids’ apple slices, too!
Care to make your own honey butter? Here’s a handy recipe:
Mix together a quarter cup of raw honey, a half cup softened butter and a half teaspoon cinnamon. Slather on your breakfast toast or bring to your next family brunch and everyone at the table will be abuzz with compliments!
Honey is more than a breakfast or dessert treat. Mix with soy sauce, olive oil and Vermont vinegar for a homemade salad dressing or sweeten up a special glaze for grilling that salmon, chicken or pork chops this summer!
Bon appetit from our crew at Vermont’s Own Products to you and your family this summer recipe season!
